Service Technician
Responsibilities
-
Perform day-to-day service activities including; scheduling, inspections, testing and repairs for residential and commercial systems (NFPA 13D/ 13R/ 13).

Prepare all documents required by customer, regulatory agencies, and management to facilitate proper billing, deficiency reporting, and scheduling in a timely manner.

Report to Service Department Manager to ensure technical, customer, regulatory, material ordering, and other business issues are proactively addressed.

Promote a safe working environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards where applicable.

Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and exceptional performance.

Maintain vehicle, tools and truck inventory in accordance with company policies.
-
Foster a cooperative and positive attitude with customers, regulatory agents, owners, and other employees.
-
Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
-
Minimum high school graduate required; technical training or some relevant college degree coursework desired but not required.

3+ years in the fire protection industry preferred.
-
NICET certification Level 1 required; Level II preferred (Inspection and Testing- Water-Based Systems)

Working knowledge of NFPA, Local, and State fire codes and standards as they apply to fire pump and sprinkler inspections.

Analytical mindset for trouble-shooting.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with customers, regulatory agencies, and management.

Ability to define and nurture potential sales opportunities.
-
Proven time management skills with prioritizing and delivery against deadlines.
Additional Requirements:

Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
-
Must be able to pass a drug test and pre-employment background screening. Availability for responding to customer emergencies (24/7 operation).

Accurate preparation of documentation related to billing and regulatory requirements.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders and working on lift equipment, etc.).

Must be reliable, dependable, trustworthy, and punctual.

Ability to operate computers, tablets, and smart phones, with service technical applications experience as well as proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and email applications.

90 day probationary period applies.
