Sprinkler Fitter


  • Demonstrates the ability to manage and schedule an installation project. Takes responsibility for all work done under their control.

  • Demonstrates the ability to schedule tasks for themselves and to keep a crew working productively, safely, and efficiently at all times.

  • Ability to read CAD drawings and install fire suppression systems accordingly (lay out pipe, holes and sleeves, measure and cut drops, techniques for hanging varied piping materials).

  • Demonstrates knowledge of head spacing rules, hangers (types, spacing, etc.).

  • Able to groove pipe, install and trim valves, (alarm/dry/control), and switches.

  • Communicates clearly the material and job issues with appropriate parties.

  • Demonstrates good judgment for problem solving, coordinating, and installation with other trades and general contractors.

  • Promote a safe working environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards where applicable.

  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and exceptional performance.

  • Maintain vehicle (clean and organized), tools (working order) and truck inventory (appropriate for scheduled jobs) in accordance with company policies.

  • Keep job sites clean and organized. Return unused materials in good condition.

  • Foster a cooperative and positive attitude with customers, regulatory agents, owners, and other employees.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school graduate required.

  • 3+ years in the fire protection industry preferred.

  • Working knowledge of NFPA, local, and state fire codes and standards as they apply to fire suppression installations.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with customers, regulatory agencies, management and co-workers.

  • Proven time management skills with prioritizing and delivery against deadlines.
